Sports Premium Grant
This funding is given from the Government per academic year (September - July). Schools must spend the funding to improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils, but they are free to choose the best way of using the money.
For example, you can use your funding to:
- hire specialist PE teachers
- hire qualified sports coaches to work with teachers
- provide existing staff with teaching resources to help them teach PE and sport
- support and involve the least active children by running or extending school sports clubs, holiday clubs.
- run sport competitions.
- run sports activities with other schools

As with all schools, plans are changing regularly as we continue to work around the barriers that the covid-19 pandemic presents. Large gatherings; social-mixing; visitors to school and visits out of school have been adversely affected with the restrictions placed on education settings, which means we may not hit all of our milestones set out in our 2021/22 planned spend of the PE and School Sport Plan. As always at Staincliffe, we will monitor, evaluate, reflect and revise our plans as the year progresses to ensure we maximise the PE and School Sport opportunities that are available for us, our children and our families.
