KS1 to KS2 Transition
Welcome to our Year 2 to Year 3 transition page.
If your child is starting Staincliffe in Year 3 this September, there will be a welcome session on Wednesday 19th June. This is for all parents/carers only, as the children will get the chance to come and visit us on Transition Day, which is scheduled for Tuesday 2nd July.
The welcome session for parents/carers will give you the chance to meet key staff, see the school and have any questions answered that you may have about your child starting Key Stage 2 at Stainlcliffe.
There will be two opportunities on the day to come and visit us (you only need to attend one session):
- 9:15am - this will be a presentation from Mr Dixon and other key staff in the hall.
- 4.30pm - the same presentation from Mr Dixon and key staff, but there will also be the chance to have a guided tour of the school given by some of our exceptional Year 6 children!
A welcome pack will be sent home with lots of useful information and forms to complete - could we ask that these are returned to Staincliffe either at the information evening (date and time above) or before your child's first day of school with us (Wednesday 4th September 2024).
On Tuesday 2nd July, Kirklees' annual Transition Day takes place - all children joining us in September 2024 will attend Staincliffe for the day, spend time in their new classes with their new class teacher and have lunch. More details with all the arrangements will follow nearer the time....
